Active Outdoor Kids (AOK) Program is funded through Resilience NSW and administered by Outdoors NSW & ACT. This provides active recreation opportunities free of charge for 7–17-year-olds to get outside and active. 
 
Active Outdoor Kids has partnered with Port Macquarie Surf School to provide FREE surf lessons to children living in the Mid Coast region 

Each Child will receive 2 x 2.5 hour surf lessons and surf awareness program

Time 

Lesson 1: 9.30am till 12 O'Clock 

Lesson 2: 12.30pm till 2pm 

 

Please book using the booking link, as there are limited places available , each surfer will need to book 2 lessons each

Location: Crowdy Bay Beach 

This program is suitable for kids 7 + years 

  
 What’s provided

All surfing equipment soft boards, wetsuits and rash shirts

What to Bring
Swimwear, towel, if you have your own wetsuit and would like to use your more than welcome to bring it along.

What happens if I can't make a lesson one week?

If your child can't make a session,  we ask that you please phone, email or text message our office to let us know so that we know they are not coming this lesson will be forfeited.

 

MAKE UP LESSONS WILL ONLY BE OFFERED IF PORT MACQUARIE SURF SCHOOL CANCELS A LESSON DUE TO DANGEROUS SURF.

Port Macquarie Surf School is a Licensed Member of the Surfing Australia Surfschool Network through Surfing NSW, its affiliated state branch.
Surfing Australia is the peak body for Surfing in Australia and a non-profit organisation who promote a safe learning environment that is provided by licensed surfschools such as Port Macquarie surf School. They offer quality coaching to all their clients and maintain the standards expected of Surf Schools who are part of the Surfing Australia Surfschool Network and delivering the Safe Surfing Program endorsed by the Australian Sports commission.”

Cancellation policy

IF COVID restrictions occur during the term we will organise make up lessons ( private or small group) depending on area health advice,  which will be used up before the next term of after school surfing begins.  These make up lessons will be of the same value as the after school lessons missed.  

•24 hours notice must be provided to cancel your surf lesson.
•Unfortunately no refunds can be given if, for any reason, you have to leave early while participating in a surf lesson.
•Once you have started your course, surf lessons are not transferable to anyone else.
•Our beaches, and all beaches for that matter, are at times subject to currents, troughs, rips, shallow sandbanks and strong winds. We strongly advise you to take the time to consider these factors before you sign the Declaration Form and participate in a surf lesson.
•We reserve the right to cancel or postpone surf lessons due to poor or dangerous surf conditions.
• Students are to listen to the advice of coaches at all times. Coaches are there to assist and keep all students safe. 


•Even on rainy days, lessons will be still be held. We’re all going to get wet anyway

  • Make up surf lessons are offered if Port Macquarie Surf School needs to cancel a surf lesson. 
  • If surfers cancels a surf lesson this will be forfeited
